Attendees of any APS in-person or virtual events are expected to meet standards of professional conduct as described in the APS Code of Conduct. Violations of these standards may disqualify people from future participation.


Career Fair

Discover the next step in your career at the Career Fair, taking place in person at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, Nov. 3-5, 2026. 

The APS Division of Plasma Physics and Gaseous Electronics Conference Joint Meeting Career Fair provides an opportunity for job seekers and employers to meet in person and discuss physics job opportunities at all career levels. 

Employers will be available to conduct on-site interviews and make connections for post-meeting conversations. All DPP and GEC-registered attendees are invited to attend the Career Fair.

Attendees

Meet face-to-face with employers and recruiters from industry, national labs, and other institutions, who will be available to answer your career-related questions. Get a sense of what you can expect when attending the career fair and meeting employers: 

  • Job postings and applications: Starting in the Fall of 2026, visit the APS Job Board to view all job postings online, apply for the jobs, and visit the career fair area on-site, where you can learn more about each recruiter.

  • Interviews: Employers will independently schedule and conduct interviews with job seekers. There will be a private interview space near the career fair area of the hotel. 

  • Employer follow-up: If you’re registered for the event, employers will be able to contact you after the career fair. Upload your resume to the Job Board to increase your chances of getting hired!

We’re offering dedicated 30-minute appointments where students, early-career scientists, and job seekers can meet one-on-one with an APS Career Mentor. Whether you’re seeking job-search guidance, a resume or CV review, or advice on your next career step, this is a great opportunity to receive personalized support from experienced mentors.

Sign-up will be available one week before the conference.
