This year’s meeting will be held June 4–6 at the Oregon Institute of Technology, in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Getting Here 

By Car

Klamath Falls is located in Southern Oregon at the intersection of OR-140 and US-97.

By Plane

The nearest airport is in Medford, Oregon (MFR).
The airport is about 70 miles from Klamath Falls.

Rental cars are available at the airport.

There are also buses that run between Medford and downtown Klamath Falls each day.  The bus stops at the Medford airport, the Running Y, and downtown Klamath Falls, and costs about $25 each way. You can purchase tickets through Greyhound, Amtrak, and other carriers, but it is all the same route and carrier.

 

Other airports in the region include

  • Redmond, Oregon — RDM, about 120 miles (near Bend, Oregon)

  • Redding, California — RDD, about 120 miles

  • Reno/Tahoe, Nevada — RNO, about 250 miles

  • Portland, Oregon — PDX, about 290 miles

  • Sacramento, California — SMF, about 290 miles

By Train

Amtrak’s scenic Coast Starlight train connects Los Angeles to Portland and Seattle, and passes through Klamath Falls twice a day (8 a.m. northbound, 10 p.m. southbound).

There are several hotels in Klamath Falls and the surrounding area.  We have made arrangements with two for the conference.  The Best Western is downtown and the Running Y is a resort outside of town.

Travel support is available for students. Awards of up to $300 are available.

Things to Do In and Around Klamath Falls

Klamath Falls has a pleasant and walkable downtown with several breweries and coffee roasters. You can explore Western art and Native American artifacts at the Favell Museum.  Opportunities for hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking abound in the surrounding area, with nearby Moore Park offering lakefront trails and Cascade views. (Expect pleasant June weather with highs in the 70s–80s°F and cool evenings.)
